The XTERRA races are always great and this one is no exception. The 22K is really tough — the word I used was “grueling” — but absolutely gorgeous. Stunning. Registration was a breeze and packet pick up was available the day before (at the “Malibu Adventure Games”) and the day of the race. As with any race, arriving early is a good idea to get rock star parking and have short lines for packet pickup and bathrooms. I liked the green tech tee they gave out in 2012 with the course map on the back! The new partnership with Dos Equis is a great idea … LOVED tossing back a couple of cold ones right after finishing. What a wonderful morning.
