I did the marathon, the marathon course is a lot more scenic than the half since it goes through central park which is a huge bonus in my estimation. The half does not go out to the park. Although it adds some difficulty to the course, it is a beautiful distraction. There were a ton of water stations and people cheering on course which was great. It can get windy on PCH and I think the pain of running into a headwind offsets the ocean scenery. Also, if you’re doing the half, it is difficult to see the ocean as you’re on PCH, whereas the full also goes along the boardwalk where you can see the beach pretty well. Parking is mostly free but can be quite a distance away and you probably will need to take a shuttle if you’re in the half.
