Did the 1/2 earlier this year. Not sure what I expected since it was my 1st 1/2 marathon.
Hotel choices for those of us coming from out of town was limited and VERY expensive. The hotel we chose was not very racer friendly with no morning-of breakfast available as well as a really crummy parking situation.
The registration tent was fine if a bit crowded. Parking was a bitch.
Literature made out that there’d be lots of entertainment along the route… there was not. Also, many of the mileage markers were missing from the 1/2 route, what’s up with that???
REALLY enjoyed the route itself, nice layout and well staffed with many fluid tables and well spaced port-a-potty stops as well.
Post race was friendly and easy to navigate with lots of munchies and drinks and a well stocked beer garden.
The medals were so frickin’ cool with the surfboard motif.
Someday may do the run again but only if we don’t have to hotel or we win the lottery.
Sure it’s a great race for a local to participate in.
