Review of Southern California Half Marathon & 5K by

We picked up our race packets the morning of the race and it was a little disorganized and at first they gave me someone else’s number and never did check my ID. No biggie, I finally got my own number and was ready to go. My girlfriend lives in the area and so this run was a must do for us. Race day parking was easy and free and not too far from the Start/Finish.
This is another run that some of the Students Runner’s training for the LA Marathon do and at times this can be a bit difficult as their running etiquette leaves a little to be desired.

The course is ok at best, and there is a lot of city street running and a lot of up and back. I will say that along the way there are lots of students supporting this run and cheering the runners along which was nice.

The SWAG was again, only ok, but the purpose of this event is to support the school system so no complaints, I like to see money to going to benefit the community.

Post race was good but very crowded.

All in all, I don’t know that I would do this race again except for the fact that it is in my girlfriends neighborhood.
