This was my second time running the OC Half Marathon, and the course was a great course. I loved the course because it was the perfect mix of flat ground, uphill, and downhills. The weather was perfect. I was able to set a new PR today, which was awesome in itself. The pre-race festivities were ok, but it felt like you were in a maze, navigating among all of the booths. I have been to a ton of these before, and I know that the promoters want you to see all of the booths, which is understandable. I had no problems during the pre-race festivities today. I arrived around 5, took the bus to the start line, and had about 45 minutes to get ready for the run, which was just enough time. The post race festivities were good for me. The only issue that I had was with the bag pick up after the race. There were long lines to pick up my bag, and luckily I was finished picking up my bag before the lines got really long. This is a really fun race for me, and I hope that there will be improvements to the bag pick up in future events.
