Pre-race shuttles didn’t arrive as scheduled which meant having to scramble to drive ourselves to the start line with only moments to spare. The corrals were not managed well which led to multiple crowd bottlenecks throughout what should have been a beautiful, easy, and PR-friendly course. The end of the race was the absolute worst – over an hour to leave the fairgrounds parking lot! Of course, this wouldn’t have been an issue if we had been able to take the morning shuttle which never arrived. I’ve been told that these issues are pretty consistent year to year. It’s a shame. This had the potential to be a favorite course. Oh well!
