This race is well organized for being a small local event. Registration is fairly easy, online and on day race. They usually run out of enough T-shirts, especially women small size, so you need to sign up early for this. Price is very reasonable for both races. Probably the weakest part is the course, which is a 3.1 miles loop around the Lakewood neighborhood, very easy and basic, with nothing exciting about it. If you run the 10 K you do the same loop twice, which becomes boring after a while. Plenty of water stations and portal potties along the course, and school cheerleaders, neighboors support, and cheers. The 1K kids race is really fun. It’s no live music, just DJ music, and rpobably just enough food donated by Dole, and other sponsors. It’s mainly a morning run in the neighborhood with a bunch of other people.
