Review of Hot Chocolate 5K/15K by Amanda Daley

Wonderful race! Everything and everyone with this race was on point! They kept racers up to date daily on facebook and they were always quick to respond with any questions.
The expo was held at two locations which made it really convenient for those in north county as well as east county. They had chocolate, music and fun going off and it was very organized. The jacket they gave was awesome and a nice little touch. I have so many race T’s so something different was appreciated. (Although I really would have liked a medal as well)
The course… not a walk in the park. Its mostly uphill and had a couple quick descends as well. I was not super excited about the course, as it was a little boring with zig zagging back and forth through parts of the course. Running through a downtown homeless tunnel was a little different as well.
Lots of on course aid stations and it seemed there was an actual time clock at every mile and that was a nice touch. I can only suggest some cold chocolate milk at the finish because it is san diego and after 9 miles of running the last thing I really want is hot chocolate. I think I will be back to try it again next year. It was overall a really fun race!
