The San Diego Dirt Devils know how to put on a race! The prices are great and you get wonderful gear that varies race to race this time it was a tech shirt and a hat. You have 2 days for packet pick up at SDRI and if needed you can have a friend pick up your stuff with a copy of their ID. Race morning offered plenty of parking nearby. RB community park had a large restroom facility in addition to the provided port a potties. You check in race morning to get your timing chip. They had a small station for fluids and food in case you didn’t bring yours. There were 2 wave starts 7-10 per min/mile and 10+ plus to avoid bottle necking when the path narrowed.
The trails were great and wrapped around the late until we briefly went on the sidewalk to access the bridge to the rest of the trail along Lake Hodges. After the bridge we headed left uphill and went down slightly to a creek crossing. There was little later in there about as deep as your calf. The trail continued until there was a wooden post fence where we veared right. Along the entire trail if it was a bush of hanging down from a tree the course was very well marked. Its out and back and was easy to follow the course. The medal was huge and had the same logo as the shirt. This race was well run and was a great bargin, looking forward to the rest of the series.
