Review of Electric Run – Los Angeles by

This was an event for all age levels. The parking was plentiful and close to the start, although $10 to park was a little excessive but probably required by the venue – The Home Depot Center. After packet pick-up we were encouraged to get some free face, arm, or body painting, with glow-in-the-dark paint. There was an area to take photos also. Thousands of us waited in the starting corral for the sun to set and, being an untimed run/walk, everyone was very relaxed, admiring costumes and enjoying the music. The event guys and DJs at the start line were high above the crowd on a scaffold, yelling encouragement and flinging glowsticks and LEDS into the crowd, to add to the glow-in-the-dark bling we received in our goody bags (which also included a good quality T-shirt). They let the crowd start in waves and we were off to screams and shouts. The course wound through the parking lots and roads inside the stadium area so no traffic and freedom to dance and take photos. The neon trees, glowing arches, lasers, and glowing beach balls were amazing. Even the water stops had neon cups. Music was everywhere. We ended up walking through the stadium and onto the concourse into a huge party. I was in the 3rd wave and when I crossed the finish line there were still waves of people starting out. This run was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. The organizers did a brilliant job and I would encourage anyone who can walk 3 miles to find an Electric Run. I drove 140 miles round trip for this one and it was well worth it.
