The was my first reverse Tri. For the most part, it was well organized, easy packet pick up, and clearly marked transition area. Loved the run course, not flat, but not too challenging. Bike course was decent, didn’t love all the turns and I was a bit confused on where to go when you finished the second loop. There were people on their first loop turning into the area where you were supposed to go when you finished the second loop to go to transition location. There was a person telling you where to go, but you were on top of him before you got the information. So, slowing down before the hill ascent was a bit frustrating, but minor. I would suggest to have signage like they have when they split a half and full marathon. This way you can see on your first lap around where you turn when you complete your second lap. Overall, it was a great experience!

Fantastic Event!! Well done Renegade. this event was well organized and fun. The location was really nice with plenty of parking that made it easy to get to the packet pick up. The course was fun, though the description of that hill was a little deceiving. It went up for about a mile and athletes had to run it once and ride it twice. Hey, I love hills so that’s no biggie, but an elevation map on the website would have helped prep. The Kids Tri was so fun to watch. There were some amazing little athletes out there – and some awesome kids just having a good time.
A great race for newbies and experienced athletes. Will likely do it again next year.

I have to say this was a fabulous inaugural event.
There are usually a lot more bumps, thumps and Renegade put on a fabulous race. It was targeted at newbies (I was one of them) and they did a great job of communicating expectations, prepping athletes for the course, etc. My biggest (and really only) gripe was that they should have separated the adults from the kids at the starting line. Naturally kids get excited and they were all bunched up in the beginning which really clustered things up for the somewhat faster 5k-ers. My favorite part about the race was how encouraging they were. For a small race, you often don’t do a ton of awards, and they did plaques for every 5 year age groups. I think that’s critical if you’re trying to get people engaged. As they handed out awards there were a lot of first time triathletes which was great to hear. I wish they had done the same thing for the kids’ race. My son was a bit disappointed about that after working hard on his event (and even training a bit..and I use that term loosely).
Great event overall!
