High Mountain Tri
October 27, 2018 · Hemet, CA
Distance: 20K bike, 500 meter swim, 5K run
Lake Hemet is an artificial lake in the San Jacinto Mountains, 4,340 ft (1,323 m) above sea level; and is also part of the San Bernardino National Forest. This beauty of a scenery is just 8.7 miles from the Idyllwild, a popular southern California mountain resort.
SWIM: Start your race in a pristine mountain lake with a 500 meter swim where the water is fresh, cool and calm.
BIKE: Transition to the Bike leg in the Marina next to the lake and begin a 20 Kilometer journey through pine trees and amazing views. There are gentile changes in elevation that will provide a moderate challenge to our competitors. The area you will pass through is the habitat for both local deer and a family of American Bald Eagles.
RUN: Finish your Tri with a 5k “out and back” run that takes you up into the pines with breathtaking views of the lake.
