Heroes of Hope Race for Research

The Heroes of Hope Race for Research will take place Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Dockweiler State Beach. The day includes a 5K/10K & iDance4aCURE Kid’s Fun Run (with SuperHero Capes and Tutus for all Fun Run Participants) Plus Kids Zone and Wellness Expo. Participant projections reflect thousands of runners and walkers, and will feature guest appearances from professional athletes, brain tumor survivors, prominent healthcare professionals, and celebrities…all in the name of finding a cure!!! Race day competition also includes the “Rivals United in Hope” (RUH) team competition which will pit teams across Southern California against one another in a friendly battle for the coveted trophies for biggest team and highest fundraising. Your participation will be an integral part in helping us raise the much needed funds and awareness for this disease!
Proceeds from the race will directly fund innovative pediatric and adult brain tumor research including the esteemed work of Dr. Linda Liau’s team at UCLA’s Department of Neurosurgery, The neural tumor team at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles/USC Keck School of Medicine and the Department of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Course: 5K & 10K Runs on flat City streets to finish in the beach parking lot. Great ocean views and cool sea breezes. A great course for a PR.
T-Shirts & Goodies: A quality Tech Tech shirt for all pre-registered participants. Volunteers receive a quality cotton shirt.
Food & Beverage: Food and drink galore, including food trucks to purchase food from.
Fun Stuff To Do: Mile location signs shown at each mile, two aid stations along the course. A giant expo awaits finishers. Bring the little’s for the Kids fun run for the 10 yrs and under.
- 8:00 AM – 5K Run & Walk
- 8:30 AM – 10K Run
- 8:30 AM – Virtual Walker/Runner (sleep through it!)
- 9:30 AM – Kids Fun Run, 10 & under. (not timed & less then 1 mi) Dockweiler State Beach
