We all know exercise is good for us physically, but did you know it can have powerful mental health benefits, too, and even work as a hedge against depression, dementia, and even Alzheimer’s Disease? Here’s a ‘no-brainer’ opportunity to help yourself and others maintain mental fitness: The inaugural Great Brain Race 5k, benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County. 
The effects of Alzheimer’s disease on individuals and their families can be devastating. Alzheimer’s disease is the fourth leading cause of death in Orange County alone, impacting more than 84,000 people. All proceeds from this event go to fund the myriad of free and low-cost programs and services it makes available to those in need.
