XTERRA WETSUITS Mission Bay Triathlon
Mission BayJoin us at the birthplace of the sport for the XTERRA Wetsuits Mission Bay Triathlon!
Now in its 38th year, this historic race in San Diego benefits the Life Sports Foundation and celebrates the origins of the sport. The first Mission Bay Triathlon took place here in 1974 as a run-bike-swim-run event on Fiesta Island, and today athletes from across the country and around the world gather to race where triathlon history began. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or trying your first event, this is your chance to be part of a true legacy race.
Produced by KOZ Events as part of the San Diego Triathlon Series, the event is designed to be inclusive and beginner-friendly while still offering competitive racing for experienced athletes. Participants can choose from traditional triathlon formats or alternative multisport options like duathlon, aquathlon, and aquabike. There’s even a Mini Sprint for newcomers and youth races for kids. Free weekly training groups are also offered to help athletes prepare and connect with the local triathlon community.
The event is proudly supported by long-time sponsor XTERRA WETSUITS, which has equipped athletes at KOZ races for over 15 years with high-performance wetsuits designed for comfort, speed, and buoyancy.
