History
The celebrated Bay to Breakers race was first held in 1912, known then as the Cross City Race. With each year that’s passed, Bay to Breakers has grown into a glorious celebration of the human spirit. Now one of the largest foot races in the world, this event attracts not just world-class runners but thousands of costumed runners and walkers. With live music, thousands of spectators, and a challenging course, this event is truly a showcase of all San Francisco has to offer.
Breakers Bonus – Make it 15k
Those who fancy trying something a bit longer have another option, runners can choose to do the Breakers Bonus 3k which adds to the end of the original route, for a total of a 15k run.
