Coming to a race near you…
BolderBoulder recently released a dramatic movie-like trailer of their annual 10K road race set for Memorial Day, May 25. If you’ve never experienced the Colorado-based race before, then this video promo will convince you to register immediately, and if you’ve already participated in the past then it’ll remind you of why it’s dubbed “America’s all-time best 10K.”
However, the Bolder Boulder isn’t the only race that’s incorporating theatrical running shots and inspirational musical scores into their video promos. As more and more races are being held across the country, racing brands are finding new ways to attract runners to their races. Hence, a movie-style trailer that captures the drama, fun and motivation behind why people run should do the trick. Here are a few other inspiring promos of upcoming races in 2015. Caution: May unconsciously pull out wallet and register while watching…or hit the pavement running.
LA Marathon, March 15
This promo for the upcoming LA Marathon came out last October when registration opened. The music in this one reminds us of the opening trailer sequence to a Marvel Comic superhero movie. Avengers anyone?
Honolulu Marathon, Dec. 13
The Honolulu Marathon may have just occurred last month, but they’ve wasted no time in promoting this year’s race. Short, simple and to the point, this trailer makes an impact without saying a whole lot (or anything at all). It’s a teaser to the trailer.
Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon & 1/2 San Diego, May 31
This Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series promo uses footage from last year’s race in San Diego. Quick shots of Nick Symmonds and Meb Keflezighi should be enough to make you want to sign up for this year’s race in May.
