But thankfully, there are many watches available that allow you to keep track of your running times and monitor your progress with style. The Garmin 910XT is the ultimate all-in-one GPS enabled watch that is suitable for runners, bikers and swimmers. The Timex T5K575 is another GPS enabled watch that allows runners to measure real time speed, pace, distance and heart rate with the supplied wireless monitor. The Timex T5K575 is rugged and water resistant to 50 meters, which makes the watch prefect to withstand most of the outdoor elements.

The Timex T5K575 features a large, easy to read and customizable display so you can see exactly what you want and how you are doing on your runs. The battery is not bad either providing up to 8 hours before requiring a recharge. The Time Ironman Run Trainer is currently available for approx. $175 and is recommended for anyone looking for an easy to read, accurate and customizable GPS enabled running watch.
3. Garmin Forerunner 610
The 610 is a popular and a definitely one of our favourite running watches produced by Garmin. The Garmin 610 is a water-resistant GPS enabled training device that features a user-friendly touchscreen interface, accurate data tracking such as distance, pace, heart rate, GPS position and a custom vibrate notification function. The Garmin 610 also provides a battery life of up to 8 hours.

The Forerunner 610 also features Virtual Racer and Virtual Partner modes so you can race against your previous best times or see how you measure up with a set pace time. 4. Garmin Forerunner 10
Primarily aimed at casual runners, the Garmin 10 is an affordable and easy to use GPS running watch that provides the basics of tracking your speed/pace, distance and calories at a touch of a button. The Forerunner 10 is one of the lightest and most comfortable watches produced from Garmin and is available in black, green and pink colors.

With a battery life of up to 5 hours, the Garmin 10 also features a Virtual Pacer program that compares your current running pace to your target pace. This is great if you want to progress and meet your set targets. We would recommend the Garmin Forerunner 10 to anyone looking for easy to use, inexpensive and functional running watch.
5. Nike+ SportsWatch GPS
The Nike+ SportsWatch is probably one of the best looking and most stylish running watches currently available but is it any good? When we reviewed the GPS enabled watch, we liked how easy it was to set up and use. And the GPS provided by TomTom provided pretty fast and accurate data such as distance, time and pace etc.

The Nike+ SportWatch provides a battery life of up to 8 hours and provides a personal coaching mode, which aims to keep you motivated and reminds you when to run. Your progress can also be shared with fellow runners via the Nike+, Facebook or Twitter websites. Priced approx. $169, the Nike+ SportWatch is ideal for anyone looking for a normal sized watch that combines functionality with style.
6. Timex Marathon GPS
Timex makes the list again with the Marathon GPS model. The Timex Marathon GPS is a great and affordable training tool that lets runners track their workouts without breaking the bank. Available from approx. $80, the Timex Marathon watch allows any runner to simply monitor their speed and distances.

For runners only wanting to monitor their times, distances and speed, we highly recommend the Timex Marathon GPS because it’s inexpensive and does the job straight out the box.
7. Motorola MOTOACTV
The Motorola MOTOACTV is a GPS enabled fitness tracker that allows you to precisely track your running progress. The MOTOACTV also features a smart MP3 player that learns what types songs motivates you most by measuring your performance against your music list. Runners can also wirelessly upload data to the MOTOACTV training portal to track and monitor their progress.

The Polar RCX5 is an advanced sports watch that comes supplied with a heart rate monitor that is aimed at serious runners and triathletes. The Polar RCX5 features ZoneOptimizer program that coaches you, sport profiles that allow you to easily switch between sports and allows you to track your times, heart rate, distances and pace etc.

9. New Balance GPS Runner
The New Balance GPS Runner is an inexpensive no-frills GPS running watch that allows runners to monitor the basics. That is speed, distance and pace via the GPS tracker. The New Balance Runner features GPS technology, 3 line multi-view display that allows up to 49 different pre-sets and 100-hour chronograph.

10. Suunto Ambit HR
The Suunto Ambit HR is another GPS enabled watch that is primarily aimed at trail runners and ultra runners. The Suunto Ambit features an extremely accurate GPS unit, a long-lasting 50-hour battery, barometer, temperature reader and heart rate monitor. For any runner that likes to explore, this watch is fantastic as it includes everything you’ll ever need for your runs.
