Heroes in Recovery 6K – Palm Springs
January 28, 2018 · Palm Springs, CA
Heroes in Recovery 6K returns to Palm Springs for it’s sixth year on Saturday February 4, 2017!
The Heroes in Recovery 6K is a 3.728 mile race that brings together those in recovery, their loved ones, supporters of the cause and whole communities in order to break the stigma surrounding addiction and mental health conditions. It takes a heroic effort to live clean and sober each day, and the Heroes 6K celebrates that effort. The sixth kilometer separates a Heroes race from a typical 5K to symbolize the extra effort it takes to sustain recovery. The six kilometers also represent the six letters in the word HEROES.
The charity beneficiary for this race is SafeHouse of the Desert. They are Coachella Valley’s only 24/7 non-profit shelter for youth in crisis. Together with community support, they provide emergency shelter, intervention and outreach services.
Each registered participant will receive:
~A colorful finisher’s medal upon crossing the finish line!
~A women’s/men’s specific tech t-shirt!
~Delicious post-race nutrition!”
